meet Our Team

Robert D. Hogg, D.O.

Psychiatrist

I was told once, half-jokingly, in my residency training that I wasn’t cut out for the modern practice of psychiatry spending a few minutes with a rapid succession of patients I barely knew. Personally, I take that as a compliment, as a reminder of what our fragmented mental health care system has turned into and my insistence on doing something different. I like to talk to people, to dig deeply beyond the presenting symptoms and look for real long lasting solutions. I have seen truly life changing results from psychiatric medications and consider them an important tool in my tool box. The danger comes when it is the only tool in our tool box and we forget about the things that make life meaningful. We forget about the things that make us human. My own path to this point has been anything but a straight line, but the reality is every adventure, every mistake and surprise along the way made me who I am.

I would be honored to talk with you about your own journey. About your goals and challenges and where I might be able to help.

My goal is to have patients feel respected, heard and supported and to feel that contact with our clinic has helped them build stronger foundations for their future selves.

I completed medical school and residency with the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and am Board Certified through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Resident Psychiatrist

Caring for others is a fundamental aspect of our humanity. When we take the time to truly listen, empathize, and support those around us, we create a world enriched with compassion and understanding. Whether it is a kind word to uplift someone's spirits, lending a helping hand in times of need, or simply being present for someone who feels alone, caring for others fosters connection and healing. It is in these moments of selflessness that we cultivate a sense of community and build the bonds that make life meaningful. As we care for others, we not only improve their well-being but also contribute to our own personal growth and fulfillment. Showing care and kindness reminds us of the interconnectedness of our lives and the power we hold to make a positive difference in the world.

Caring for patients is at the heart of healthcare. As healthcare providers, it is our responsibility to not only treat the physical ailments of our patients but also provide them with emotional support and compassion. This involves actively listening to their concerns, advocating for their needs, and ensuring their comfort and dignity throughout their healthcare journey. It means taking the time to understand their unique circumstances, beliefs, and values, and incorporating these into their care plans. Caring for patients requires a multidisciplinary approach, with collaboration between healthcare professionals, to ensure the best outcomes. Above all, caring for patients means treating them as individuals, with kindness, empathy, and respect, to foster a therapeutic and healing environment.
